Lactobezoar is a relatively uncommon disorder first described by Wolf and Bruce (1959). The diagnosis has usually been confirmed radiologically or by gastroscopy. We present a case of a lactobezoar diagnosed by ultrasound. To our knowledge, this is the first description of the ultrasonic appearances f this condition. A previously healthy 4-month-old boy was admitted to hospital with symptoms of crying and vomiting. He weighed 6.2 kg on admission and was being fed on a modified formula feed and solids.
