Abstract

The reaction of NiCl2·6H2O with potentially bidentate N,S donor pyrazole-1-carbodithioate ligands produces four-coordinated diamagnetic NiIIN2S2 complexes quantitatively. In solution Ni(L1)2 (L1 = 3,5-dimethylpyrazole-1-carbodithioate) transforms to dimeric bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazole-1-carbodithioato) bis(μ-3,5-dimethylpyrazolato)dinickel(II), [Ni2(μ-3,5-Me2Pz)2(L1)2] (1).
