Abstract

Deep memory: A photochromic molecule can control the stability of its merocyanine (MC) form by changing the oxidation state of the ferrocene (Fc) moiety (see picture). This ferrocenyl–spiropyran (SP) system works not only in solution but also in a polymer electrolyte.
