Summary This article focusses on two human problems frequently present among the alcoholic population that are often missed and/or avoided in the treatment process. Evidence is provided suggesting that incest and marital rape occur far more often among the alcoholic population than the nonalcohlic. Assessment and treatment guidelines are then offered for consideration.
