The Anatomical Basis for Mandibulotomy: Midline Versus Paramidline

Abstract

Paramidline mandibulotomy, which cuts through a wider space between the lateral incisor and canine, preserves dentition and the genioglossus and geniohyoid muscles. It appears to be a more preferable approach than midline mandibulotomy.
