Abstract One‐dimensional heteronuclear NOE difference spectroscopy was used to assign 1 H and 13 C NMR spectra of dinuclear fulvalene complexes with tungsten and molybdenum. It was found that metal‐metal bonded complexes show 1 H chemical shifts which are the inverse of those in non‐metal—metal bonded complexes, whereas the relative 13 C chemical shifts are not affected by the metal—metal bond.
