Abstract

Abstract With the development of several novel methods for installing optical fibers in oil and gas wells for the purpose of "Distributed Temperature Sensing" (DTS), the search is on for gaining the considerable value offered from this remarkable technology. An Extremely cost effective and accurate method of determining steam breakthrough in producing wells has been developed which takes advantage of the power of DTS technology.
