Abstract N‐vinyl‐N′‐ethylurea, a new monomer the synthesis of which has been reported previously, was copolymerized with vinylacetate. methylmethacrylate and styrene. The Q and e values were calculated according to the Alfrey‐Price scheme: magnified image These values are in good agreement with those found for two other monomers which also have a –N–CO– substituent on a carbon atom of the double bond: N‐vinylpyrrolidone and ethyl‐N‐vinylcarbamate.
