This paper presents early results of a measurement program that was conducted in urban Ottawa to obtain good approximations to the time varying impulse response of a 910 MHz mobile radio channel. The applicability of the widely used point scattering model for the characterization of such a channel, and the point scattering approach to coherence bandwidth calculations is discussed. Measured data are presented to substantiate conclusions.
