Isolation of caprine arthritis-encephalitis virus from a goat

Abstract

Abstract Caprine arthritis-encephalitis virus (CAFV) was isolated from the carpal joint of an Anglo-Nubian yearling goat with chronic progressive pneumonia and subclinical carpal arthritis. Anti-CAEV antibody was detected in this goat and in nine of 69 goat sera tested from two herds.
