The field of behavioral pediatrics continues to evolve with advances from the laboratory and clinical arenas. This review highlights those advances relevant to pediatricians and child psychiatrists caring for children with a variety of behavioral and developmental disorders. Special attention is given to the problems of enuresis, attention deficit disorder (ADD), depression, recurrent headache and abdominal pain, and the sequelae of pediatric conditions, including childhood illness and prematurity.
