Abstract

This article describes several elementary statistical procedures which can be used to test the effectiveness of treatment that is conducted with a single client using so-called N = 1 or time-series designs. Each of these procedures is illustrated in a format that is suitable for use with paper-pencil or pocket calculator arithmetic. Use of these procedures makes feasible the conduct of formal research investigations and the evaluation of one's own treatment efforts within the context of one's own practice.
