The heat capacities of two independently prepared specimens of $\ensuremath{\alpha}$-Mn have been measured between 1.75 and 4.2\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K. The coefficient of the contribution linear in $T$ is found to be (30.6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.5)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ cal/mole${(\mathrm{\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}}\mathrm{K})}^{2}$. This value is in reasonable agreement with that determined by Booth, Hoare, and Murphy from measurements made in the liquid-hydrogen range.
