Ultraviolet Photoemission Study of Perovskite Fluorides KMF<sub>3</sub>(M: Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) in the Valence Band Region

UPS spectra of perovskite fluorides KMF 3 (M: Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn) were measured in the valence band region. The calculation, fitted to the observed spectra, of M 3 d n -1 multiplets including the ligand field was made, and relative energy positions of the e g and t 2 g one electron states of up- and down-spins together with those of p σ and p π valence bands were determined. The effect of e g - p σ mixing in KZnF 3 seems appreciable.
