Mesoporous silica nanoparticles with remarkable stability and dispersibility have been successfully synthesized by direct organosilylation of silica−surfactant composite nanoparticles in a liquid phase. The nanoparticles can be uniformly embedded in a silica matrix to form nanocomposite coatings, which exhibit excellent antireflective properties by tuning the porosity of the nanoparticles.
