Abstract A 1:2 complex between Cu(II) and mono-(6-β-aminoethylamino-6-deoxy)-β-cyclodextrin significantly accelerates the oxidation of furoin at pH 10.5. The existence of two cyclodextrin cavities in the complex molecule may contribute to the remarkable rate acceleration.
