Abstract

Abstract A method is presented which is simple and useful in attaining solubility equilibria of organic liquids in water. The solute vapour, which is in equilibrium with the liquid solute, is introduced into water and circulated in a closed system. It has been confirmed that Henry’s law applies to aqueous solubilities of benzene and the alkylbenzenes used.
