Quantum Chromodynamics Test for Jets

Abstract

A new quantity, the maximum of the directed momentum, is proposed which measures jetlikeness in ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation. This quantity is computed in the quark-gluon model by using renormalization-group improved perturbation theory.
