Decreasing Hospitalization and In-hospital Mortality Related to Cholangitis in the United States

Abstract

The hospitalization rate of cholangitis has been declining over the past 2 decades. The overall trend in mortality peaked in 1998 and has shown a subsequent decline that may in part be related to increased utilization of endoscopic biliary decompression.
