2D Molecular Square Grid with Strong Blue Fluorescent Emission: A Complex of Norfloxacin with Zinc(II)

Abstract

The hydrothermal reactions of norfloxacin (H-Norf) with Zn(OH)2 and Zn(NO3)2·6H2O respectively, afford two different products, Zn(Norf)2·4H2O (1) and Zn(H-Norf)2.(NO3)2·2H2O(2). 1 represents, to our knowledge, an unprecedented neutral metal-based molecular square grid with strong blue fluorescent emission.
