Abstract

Administration of cortisone acetate to adult rabbits produced osteoporosis. Calcium gluconate given orally or intraperitoneally failed to influence the development of this skeletal disorder. The parathyroid glands appeared abnormal in the animals given cortisone acetate and calcium gluconate and in those given cortisone acetate alone. (Endocrinology81: 152, 1967)
