Abstract

Abstract The synthesis of some 6‐dehydro‐8α,10α‐steroids from 10α‐ergosterol (pyrocalciferol) is described. 17β‐Hydroxy‐8α,10α‐androsta‐4,6‐dien‐3‐one (XI) has also been prepared from 17β‐hydroxy‐10α‐androst‐4‐en‐3‐one 17‐acetate (XIV).
