Lifetimes of some L-x-ray emitting levels in silicon, sulfur, and chlorine*

Abstract

Lifetimes of several L -x-ray emitting levels in neon-like, fluorine-like, and oxygen-like sulfur and chlorine and in lithium-like and beryllium-like silicon have been measured. While L x rays from these levels have been previously observed, no prior measurements of decay curves for these transitions have been reported. The lifetimes as inferred from the measured decay curves are compared to calculated lifetimes.
