Abstract

An accurate determination of the self-diffusion coefficient in germanium has been obtained. In the temperature range 766-928\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}C, it is represented by $D=7.8\mathrm{exp}(\ensuremath{-}\frac{68500}{\mathrm{RT}})$ ${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$ sec. The probable errors in the frequency factor and activation energy are \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3.4 ${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$/sec and \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.96 kcal/mol, respectively.
