Neonatal jaundice and anaemia of infancy are both common diagnostic problems. Very rarely, both these symptoms may be due to congenital spherocytosis and, unless there is a known family history of the condition, their diagnosis may be very difficult. Difficulties in diagnosis were encountered in identical twins, whose case is reported here, and whose neonatal jaundice and subsequent anaemia were thought at first to be associated with prematurity.
