Abstract

The authors compare the pulmonary artery, which usually does not show arteriosclerotic changes, with the aorta, which frequently does. They conclude that the low rate of calcification of medial elastic tissue of the pulmonary artery is an important factor in limiting formation of atheromatous lesions
