Abstract

AbstractBipolaris spicifera, one of the darkly pigmented (dematiaceous) fungi commonly found in soil, is an uncommon cause of infection in humans and an unusual cause of meningitis and nosocomial infections. An 18-y-old boy who experienced meningitis with this micro-organism after acoustic neuroma resection was successfully treated with amphotericin B.
