Subcutaneous chest ports via the internal jugular vein. A retrospective study of 117 oncology patients

Abstract

Image-guided placement of internal jugular vein chest ports has a high success rate and low complication rate compared with reported series of unguided subclavian vein port insertion. The internal jugular vein should be used as the preferred venous access site compared to the subclavian vein.
