Summary. 1. A method for colorimetric determination for methanol has been described. 2. The rate of elimination of methanol in blood has been determined. At a methanol concentration of more than about 1 % the rate of elimination was about 0.0017 %per min. and at lower concentrations the value was about 0.0006 % per mm. 3. It has not been possible to demonstrate formaldehyde in blood in cases of methanol intoxication. 4. The simultaneous occurrence of ethanol prevents the elimination of methanol.
