Abstract

A fault-tolerant control scheme via dynamic output feedback for continuous-time linear systems against sensor failures, which is based on the combination of adaptive method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach is proposed. On the basis of the online estimations of sensor failures, the controller parameters are updated automatically to compensate the sensor fault effects on systems. Meanwhile, asymptotic stability and ℒ2-gain for the resultant closed-loop systems are guaranteed in normal case as well as in the sensor failure cases in the framework of LMIs. A numerical example is also given to illustrate the design procedure and its effectiveness.
