An emendation of the genus <i>Morganella</i> Z<scp>ELLER</scp> (<i>Lycoperdaceae</i>) With 2 plates and 3 figures

Abstract

Abstract The authors give an emended delimitation of the genus Morganella Z ELLER ( Gasteromycetes ) and discuss its taxonomic position and its geographic distribution. Seven species are recognized; six new combinations are made and one new species ( M. afra K REISEL &amp; D RING ) is described. The only original species, M. mexicana Z ELLER , is a synonym of M. fuliginea (B ERK . &amp; C URT .) K REISEL &amp; D RING , but one of the collections, cited by Z ELLER as M. mexicana , belongs to M. velutina (B ERK . ex M ASS .) K REISEL &amp; D RING .
