SELECTIVE REDUCTION OF ALDEHYDES WITH SODIUM TRIARYLOXYBOROHYDRIDES

Abstract

Abstract Sodium tris-(3,5-dimethyl-, and 3,5-di-t-butylphenoxy)borohydrides soluble in tetrahydrofuran have been prepared. These stable hydride complexes exhibit an excellent chemoselectivity for thereduction of aldehydes in the presence of ketones.
