Abstract

Severe hypoglycemia is a significant maternal risk associated with intensive insulin therapy of pregnant women with type I diabetes. In women with recurrent episodes of hypoglycemia, the clear benefits of strict glycemic control must be weighed against the hazards of hypoglycemia.
