1. Two cases of post-operative aneurysm formation following ligation of a patent ductus are described. 2. The radiological features include the reappearance of pulmonary pleonaemia. The appearance of a left upper mediastinal shadow which enlarges upwards and outwards on serial radiographs. The injection of contrast medium into the left ventricle or aorta will opacify the pulmonary artery and will show the false aneurysm sac. 3. The aetiology and differential diagnosis of this rare but serious complication is discussed.
