Summary Seven of 3, 187 women investigated developed toxoplasmosis during pregnancy. A further two women developed the infection either shortly before or during early pregnancy. These nine patients were delivered of ten infants, none of which showed evidence of congential toxoplasmosis. Two infants died, one in utero at 30 weeks of pregnancy and the other (one of twins) of asphyxia and intraventricular haemorrhage. The eight children who survived were followed for a period of two years. A group of 104 patients who aborted was also studied but in no case was toxoplasmosis considered a contributory factor.
