AbstractAbstract<title/>From zero-dimensional fullerene to one-dimensional carbon nanotube and to two-dimensional graphene, nanostructures based on carbon element are always one of the most exciting topics in modern science and technology. The work published in the open literature dealing with the properties, synthesis and sensor applications of graphene is overviewed. The potential techniques to realise optical fibre graphene sensors are presented and discussed. Keywords: GrapheneOptical fibre sensorsBiosensorsNanostructure
