Blue-shifted Hydrogen Bonds with Proton-donors Incapable of Rehybridization

Abstract

Abstract Blue-shifted hydrogen bonds were found for F–He–H···Y (Y = N2, CO, and He) systems where the proton-donor (He) was incapable of rehybridization. This finding indicated that rehybridization is not a generally applicable driving force for the blue shift.
