Cardiovascular Effects of Propofol in Dogs with Dilated Cardiomyopathy

Abstract

Propofol reduces left ventricular preload, afterload, and regional chamber stiffness, causes direct negative inotropic effects, and impairs early-diastolic left ventricular filling in dogs with dilated cardiomyopathy.
