Abstract Low molecular weight methacrylic triblock copolymers bearing a block of negatively charged (adsorbing) residues, a sequence of positively charged (repelling) units, and a middle neutral hydrophobic block were utilized successfully in anion‐exchange displacement chromatography for the resolution of a crude mixture of/β‐lactoglobulins into the A and B isoforms. Owing to their low molecular mass and ampholytic nature, these novel displacers possess the attractive process‐scale features of easy column regeneration and polymer recycling.
