The lasing action of a new conjugated copolymer in tetrahydrofuran (THF), xylene, toluene, and chloroform is reported. The title copolymer differs from many of the other conjugated copolymers that have been studied in that it includes meta ‐linked phenylene rings in its backbone (see Figure). The results presented—e.g., lasing threshold energy of 25 μJ, spectral halfwidth of 8 nm in THF, an expected wide tuning range—hold promise for the realization of solid state polymer lasers. magnified image
