Developing a clear understanding of recrystallization performance attributed to Al 3 Sc dispersoids in wrought Al alloys begins with the examination of basic Al-Sc binary alloys. Understanding fundamental metallurgy of the Al-Sc binary system allows proper integration of scandium with existing wrought aluminum alloys. Recrystallization, dispersoid size during annealing, and grain structure characterization of both wrought and annealed alloys are examined.
