Abstract

We provide evidence for the zero-temperatuture damping of condensate radial oscillations in the elongated cylindrical trap. The origin of this damping is a parametric resonance leading to an energy transfer from the coherent oscillations of condensate to longitudinal sound waves in certain frequency interval.
