Esmolol Blunts the Cerebral Blood Flow Velocity Increase During Emergence from Anesthesia in Neurosurgical Patients

Abstract

Esmolol blunted the postoperative increase in cerebral blood flow velocity in neurosurgical patients. The origin of sympathetic hyperactivity and its potential deleterious consequences require further study.
