Abstract

In the preterm fetal lamb, clinically relevant plasma concentrations of bupivacaine achieved by intravenous infusion to the pregnant ewe (80% gestation) abolished some of the fetal cardiovascular adaptations to asphyxia induced by partial umbilical cord occlusion.
