In Brief Sequential application of a large number of single spots in retinal photocoagulation often results in significant physician fatigue and patient discomfort. This article describes a semiautomated scanning laser retinal photocoagulator that greatly improves efficiency and increases the precision by rapid application of patterns of lesions using laser pulses as short as 10 milliseconds.
