Abstract In the pseudoliquid phase of H3PW12O40, an ethyl cation and two protonated ethanol species (monomer and dimer) have been detected by solid-state MAS NMR of 1H, 13C, and 31P; these species are most probable reaction intermediates of dehydration of ethanol.
