The method of hyperspherical ``surface'' functions has been applied to the calculation of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of muonic molecular ions $^{3,4}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\mu}}$. Binding energies and nonradiative decay rates for the states of the total angular momentum L=0, 1, 2 have been obtained.
