A review of three main neutron techniques for magnetic domain investigations is presented: neutron topography, neutron depolarization techniques and neutron small angle scattering. After a tutorial introduction in the respective fields the actual state of the art is discussed. In the application to polycrystalline materials it is demonstrated that the situation is not yet clear.
