Metallurgical Thermochemical Databases—A Review

Abstract

AbstractAn extensive review is carried out of the computerized thermochemical databases in the fields of chemical and physical metallurgy. The fully integrated computerized database systems accessible to the public are identified. These systems offer extensive thermochemical compoud and solution databases and software which can perform equilibrium thermodynamic computations typically associated with complex chemical equilibria and phase diagram calculations. The databases covered are: CSIRO, Austraha; F*A*C*T, Canada; HSC, Finland; MANLABS, U.S.A.; MTDATA, U.K.; THERDAS, West Germany; THERMO-CALC, Sweden; and THERMODATA, France. A summary of the algorithms and databanks is presented, together with typical examples drawn from each system.
