Abstract

Abstract 10α‐Testosterone and its 1‐dehydro derivative have been synthesised in 7 and 8 steps, respectively, from O‐acetyl‐1‐dehydro‐testosterone. The key step, which is described in a preceding paper, was the selective inversion of configuration at C‐10 of the starting material, effected through a photochemical reaction.
